In 20 12, the Ministry of Education revised and formed the Catalogue of Undergraduate Majors in Colleges and Universities (20 12) and the Regulations on the Management of Undergraduate Majors in Colleges and Universities, which stipulated that the setting and adjustment of majors should be filed or approved: if colleges and universities set up their own majors in the catalogue, they should report to the Ministry of Education for the record; If you want to add a major other than the professional catalogue, you need to report it to the Ministry of Education for approval.
According to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, if the existing majors in colleges and universities do not enroll students for five consecutive years, they will be revoked in principle. But in fact, some majors will take the initiative to cancel enrollment without waiting for five years. In 20 18, there were 426 majors to be revoked by universities, among which "clothing and clothing design" was the most revoked major, with a total of 17 universities in China. There are also many cancelled majors, such as educational technology, information and computing science, information management and information system, public utility management, product design, industrial design, network engineering, editing and publishing, mathematics, applied mathematics and so on.
Many "shot" students are worried that they will be kicked out of school after their majors are revoked. In fact, this kind of worry is unnecessary. Because the cancellation of the major only means that the major stops enrolling students, and it will not affect the students who are studying.
It is clearly pointed out in the Measures for Dynamic Adjustment of Doctoral and Master's Degree Authorized Disciplines and Professional Degree Authorized Categories that the degree authorized points voluntarily revoked in accordance with these Measures will be restricted within three years, and enrollment will be stopped, but the degree granting right to the enrolled graduate students will be reserved. After the expiration of 3 years, the authorization will be completely revoked, and the graduate students who have not graduated will be transferred from the degree-granting unit to other degree-granting points of the unit for training and conferring degrees, or apply to other degree-granting units for conferring degrees.
Therefore, after the cancellation of the degree authorization point, students will not continue to enroll students, but they still have three years to get their degrees. If you still can't get a degree after three years, you can transfer to other degree authorization points in our school for training, or apply for a degree from the same professional degree authorization point in a brother college.
If it is really unfortunate, there is no need to panic if the major is revoked. Students can still graduate normally and get diplomas and degree certificates, just saying that this major will not bring brothers and sisters. This is the case with the cancellation of full-time undergraduate majors, as well as the cancellation of part-time university majors such as self-taught exams and adult exams. Don't worry that canceling your major will affect your graduation. Study hard and graduate normally is the most important thing.
