Admission policy for children of veterans
Legal analysis: In the pre-school education stage, children of military personnel can enter kindergartens run by the local government (or other troops) nearby, without paying any fees other than those stipulated by the state and local authorities.

Legal basis: Measures for Priority Education of Children of Urban Soldiers in People's Republic of China (PRC).

Article 1 These Measures are formulated in accordance with the National Defense Law, the Law on Officers in Active Service, the regulations on pensions and preferential treatment for servicemen and other relevant laws and regulations in order to implement the preferential treatment policy for servicemen's children, ensure that servicemen's children receive good education and promote army building.

Article 2 The term "children of soldiers" as mentioned in these Measures includes children of soldiers, children of martyrs, children of soldiers who died in the line of duty or died.

Article 3 People's governments at all levels, their relevant departments and various schools shall give preferential treatment to children of military personnel to receive education in accordance with the law, and create conditions and provide guarantee for children of military personnel to receive good education.

Article 4 People's governments at all levels shall, in accordance with relevant regulations, strengthen supervision and inspection to ensure the implementation of various preferential policies and regulations on the education of military children. Local education administrative departments at all levels shall, according to the educational needs of military children within their respective administrative areas and in accordance with relevant regulations, actively organize and coordinate relevant kindergartens and schools to do a good job in preferential treatment for military children. People's governments at all levels should implement preferential policies for the education of military children into the "double support model city" selection.
