China Geo University (Beijing) is located in Xueyuan Road, Zhongguancun High-tech Park, Haidian District, Beijing. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, which is characterized by geology, resources, environment and geoscience engineering technology, and mainly focuses on science and engineering, with the coordinated development of science, engineering, literature, management, economics and law. It is one of the first 33 universities in China to establish graduate schools, and it is also one of the first universities to enter the national "26543". It is the cradle for training geoscientists in China and an important base for geoscience research. It is the vanguard of geoscience education in China and a well-known institution in the international geoscience community. In February, 2008, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, China Geo University (Beijing) became one of 69 pilot universities that can carry out online higher education. In May 2009, the Committee of China Geo University (Beijing) of the Communist Party of China decided to establish the School of Continuing Education of China Geo University (Beijing) as the centralized management department and secondary teaching unit of adult higher education, modern distance education and training.
