Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences is an ordinary full-time comprehensive institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is also a master's degree awarding unit. The school is located in Shaoxing, the first historical and cultural city in China.
Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences was founded in 1996, which was formed by the merger of Shaoxing Normal University and Shaoxing College. Since then, Shaoxing Health School, Shangyu Normal School and Shaoxing Architectural Technical Secondary School have merged. Its predecessor can be traced back to Shanhui Primary School Normal School founded by 1909, and Mr. Lu Xun was once the inspector (principal) of Shanhui Normal School.
As of June, 20 15, Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences has four campuses (Hedong, Hexi and Nanshan), Lanting, Shangyu and Jinghu, covering an area of 1980 mu, with a total construction area of 756,000 square meters.
The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 267 million yuan, and there are 18 secondary colleges and 1 independent colleges, offering 65 undergraduate majors, with faculty 1874, including full-time teachers 1238, and more than 23,000 full-time students.

As of June 20 15, Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences has humanities, law, foreign languages, mathematics and information, life sciences, chemistry and chemical engineering, electromechanical engineering, civil engineering, textiles and clothing, school of economics and management, medical college, conservatory of music, fine arts and Lanting Calligraphy Art College.
There are 18 secondary colleges, 1 independent colleges (Yuanpei College of Shaoxing University) and the affiliated hospital of Shaoxing University, offering 65 undergraduate majors.
3. Discipline construction
As of June 20 15, Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences has ten disciplines, including economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine, management and art, with three master's degrees authorized as first-class disciplines, 12 master's degrees authorized as two disciplines, and eight key disciplines in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of Zhejiang Province.
