In principle, the course content of "Ideological and Political Practice" for college students requires that the development of a unit, department or region in Socialism with Chinese characteristics's political construction, economic construction, cultural construction, social construction and party building should be investigated and analyzed under the guidance of instructors and around the teaching content of ideological and political theory courses, and the specific topics should be determined by students' own choice.

In particular, the school advocates the investigation of regional geology, resources and environment in combination with the advantages of our school's geology, resources and environment disciplines and specialties, and publicizes the concepts of resources and environment and disaster reduction and prevention, making contributions to building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society and gradually forming the characteristics of our ideological and political practice course.

Ideological and Political Practice is a compulsory course for undergraduates in our university, with a total of 32 hours and 2 credits, which has been implemented since grade 2007.

The ideological and political practice course is carried out in two forms: individual practice and collective practice;
