Beijing Planetarium is a national science museum. Beijing Planetarium has become the main front for publicity and education of the public, especially teenagers, through artificial starry sky simulation performance, astronomical knowledge exhibition, editing and publishing astronomical popular science books and organizing mass astronomical observation.
Since 1995, the planetarium has been named as a national, municipal and district-level popular science education base, a science and peace education base and a youth patriotism education base. It has been awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Science Popularization Collective" at national and municipal levels for many times.
Driving route: Xizhimen Bridge in the West Second Ring Road to the west, Zizhu Bridge in the West Third Ring Road to the east, Baiyi Road to the south, Sanlihe Road to the north, etc. And there is a parking lot inside.
Opening hours of Beijing Planetarium
Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to Friday from 9:30- 15:30( 15:00), Saturday and Sunday from 9:30- 16:30( 16:00).
The Beijing Planetarium now has three observation stations, which are open to the audience and have observation tasks. The new building was completed in February 2004. There are two observatories at the top of the building. One is the Solar Observatory, which is equipped with a solar vacuum telescope. It can observe solar activities such as volcanic eruption, solar bait, dark stripes and dark spots on the chromosphere of the sun during the day.
