1947, Osaka Imperial University was renamed Osaka University, which was composed of four colleges of science, engineering, medicine and law and two research institutes. Later, Osaka Pharmaceutical College merged with two high schools. Since then, Osaka University has greatly improved its disciplines, majors and school-running scale.
The French Department is divided into three parts: Law School, Economics College and Liberal Arts College, with new departments and research institutes. A large number of affiliated research centers have been established one after another, and postgraduate education has also been carried out in an all-round way, laying the foundation for building a national comprehensive university. Especially in the past two or three decades, Osaka University has developed faster than other established universities with the help of the tide of Japan's economic revitalization.
By 20 14, it has become a modern comprehensive university with 1 1 colleges, 15 graduate schools and 5 research institutes. Osaka University continues to participate in seven national comprehensive sports conferences and bachelor's conferences composed of seven old imperial universities.
