1947, Osaka Imperial University was renamed Osaka University, which was composed of four colleges of science, engineering, medicine and law and two research institutes. Later, Osaka Pharmaceutical College merged with two high schools. Since then, Osaka University has greatly improved its disciplines, majors and school-running scale.

The French Department is divided into three parts: Law School, Economics College and Liberal Arts College, with new departments and research institutes. A large number of affiliated research centers have been established one after another, and postgraduate education has also been carried out in an all-round way, laying the foundation for building a national comprehensive university. Especially in the past two or three decades, Osaka University has developed faster than other established universities with the help of the tide of Japan's economic revitalization.

Imperial University Osaka was founded in 193 1, formerly known as the Sixth Imperial University. After World War II, it was officially renamed Osaka University. Osaka University is a Class A top university and a designated national university in the super-international university program established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. It is also an academic research forum (RU 1 1), a federation of engineering departments of eight universities, an excellent graduate school program, and a leading graduate school program.

As well as important members of academic organizations and projects such as the International University Alliance, the Pacific Rim University Alliance, the Association of East Asian Research Universities, and the Japan-Britain Renjing.
