Fuzhou, referred to as Rongcheng for short, is the capital of Fujian Province, one of the central cities of the economic zone on the west side of the Straits approved by the State Council, and a riverside and coastal ecological garden city.
As of 20 18, there are six districts and six counties in the city, with a total area of 11968 square kilometers and a built-up area of about 357 square kilometers. In 20 19, the resident population was 7.8 million, and the urbanization rate was 70.5%. By the end of 20 19, the built-up area of Fuzhou's six urban areas was 30 1.28 square kilometers.
Fuzhou is located in eastern China, eastern Fujian, the lower reaches of Minjiang River and coastal areas. It is the headquarters of the army in the war zone in eastern China. It is an important city in the southeast coast of China, the first batch of coastal cities open to the outside world, a demonstration zone for marine economic development, the gateway to the Maritime Silk Road and a part of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone. It is one of the five earliest trading ports in modern China.
Fuzhou is a famous historical and cultural city in China. It was first named "Ye" in Qin and Han Dynasties, and was later renamed "Fuzhou" because of a Fushan Mountain in China. Founded in 202 BC, the city has long been the political center of Fujian. Fuzhou Mawei is the cradle of China's modern navy and the birthplace of China's ship administration culture.
