British philosopher John Mill said, "Genius can only breathe freely in free air." Psychologists' research also shows that people's thinking is most active in a relaxed and harmonious environment. On the contrary, it is difficult to produce creative thinking in a depressed ideological environment and a closed classroom teaching atmosphere. Classroom should be the world of students' spiritual life and the paradise of students' vivid development. Pay attention to students' spiritual world, let students' learning activities be carried out in the spiritual and intuitive emotional world, and let students experience the real happiness of growth. Therefore, the key to successful English education and teaching lies in teachers creating positive, active, vivid and effective learning conditions for students. Creating a relaxed, happy, democratic, harmonious, intuitive, vivid, open and interactive classroom teaching scene is the most critical and effective condition to improve the quality of English education and teaching. So, how to create a good English teaching situation? After several years of practice and thinking, I think we can start from the following aspects.
First, respect students and create a situation of equal dialogue.
Under the new curriculum concept, we advocate student-centered classroom and "learning"
"Learning to teach" respects students' innovation and independent personality in the classroom, and starts an equal dialogue with students in respect. Classroom teaching is full of life consciousness and humanistic spirit. Equal dialogue between teachers and students means dynamic generation: students can tell the truth and express their true feelings in activities. Only by expressing their true inner experience can children's personalized knowledge, experience, thinking and inspiration be mobilized to participate in classroom activities, thus making teaching "dynamic generation" rich, changeable and complicated. Such "dynamic generation" needs to establish a positive "ecological environment", that is, a democratic dialogue between teachers and students based on sincerity and equality.
Second, use English songs to create a relaxed and happy situation.
It is very important to arouse students' enthusiasm in teaching. We can play some English songs before class. In this atmosphere, students can easily enter the best learning state, relax moderately, concentrate, and be ready to accept new information at any time. Practice has proved that music can help learners relax, speed up information collection and enhance their memory.
There are many interesting and easy-to-learn English songs in primary school English textbooks, and most of them are closely related to the teaching content. Based on this, I never neglect the study and application of English songs. Combining music with English teaching and creating a good language environment can free students from the mechanical, dull, monotonous and tense learning atmosphere, feel the fun of learning and improve the efficiency of learning. Before each class, I will arrange a song related to the content of the last class or the knowledge I want to learn, and sing it with the tape recorder and classmates. On the one hand, it can relieve students' nervousness and unconsciously enter the English context, and at the same time, it can make what they have learned reviewed in beautiful melodies and rhyming lyrics.
Third, use visual teaching AIDS to create situations.
Psychological theory: "Primary school students mainly think in images." And intuitive teaching AIDS can make them remember some words and sentences. Such as wall charts, cards, objects, etc. For example, when teaching family members, I ask students to bring family photos from home and introduce their family members with classmates. The students are very happy. In order to introduce themselves better, they carefully studied the English words of their family members, which is very close to the students' real life. In addition, the classroom itself is the most intuitive and close-to-life teaching scene. When teaching doors, windows, tables and chairs, blackboards and other items, classroom furnishings are the best teaching materials. When teaching color vocabulary, I ask students to talk about their clothes, school equipment and other items; When teaching words such as food, drinks, sports, courses and animals, I ask students to use these words to have a dialogue, introduce each other and understand each other's hobbies, which not only deepens the feelings among students, but also stimulates their interest in learning English.
Fourth, play interesting games and create interesting situations.
Interest is a non-intellectual factor. Piaget, the father of modern psychologists, said: "All mental work depends on interest." British linguist Eckersley also thinks that "interest" is the most important issue in English teaching. It is a prerequisite for English learning to become easy. For primary school students, being lively and active can't keep their attention on their studies, so it is particularly important to create interesting teaching situations.
Designing questions that meet the cognitive level of most students can often stimulate their interest in learning, induce their motivation and promote students' active communication in English. If you are studying, is this an A? Sometimes, in order to avoid knowing perfectly well past asking, a teacher can blindfold a student and put an object in his hand. Q: "Is this A?" Students judge by touching and answer "Yes." Or "no, it's not". Then give the task of asking questions to the students present. The fun of this game situation lies in whether it is blindfolded.
Eyes, children will be full of mystery and desire to participate. Then the teacher suggested that a student come to the front to act as a teacher. In this game-based teaching activity, students not only perceive the teaching content, but also apply the teaching content and practice the teaching content, and also let them experience the relaxed and lively classroom atmosphere and endless fun.
Fifth, the correct use of multimedia means.
Pupils are young and have short attention span. Therefore, teachers should pay attention to the interesting and lively classroom, use visual teaching AIDS and audio-visual teaching equipment to mobilize students' learning enthusiasm and stimulate students' interest in learning, so as to change "hard study" into "happy study". It can be seen that teachers should adopt different teaching methods according to different teaching contents, so as to arouse students' learning enthusiasm and make them feel fresh when accepting new knowledge in a good language environment. Language practice is always carried out in a certain language environment, and classroom teaching is not really social language communication and practice after all. With the deepening of the content of textbooks for senior primary school students, the increase of conversation ability and ideological enhancement, it is more difficult to create situational communication, and multimedia has solved this problem for us. Tape recorders, slides, especially videos, VCDs, projectors, computers, etc. , can closely combine language, characters and environment to form a "three-dimensional" three-dimensional teaching composed of audio-visual and language. Students actively participate in learning activities such as watching, listening, speaking, writing and brain movement with a relaxed and happy mood. Sometimes, students can play the recording twice before opening the book, so as to train their ears and give them a preliminary understanding of the conversation, and then start playing the recording, but the sound is eliminated. Use the pause button to ask students to dub the video according to the video picture, that is, the expressions and actions of the characters. In this way, students seem to be there, which is easier to understand and accept. Children think with images, sounds, colors and emotions, so proper use of multimedia will get satisfactory results.
In short, under the concept of the new curriculum reform, creating a good teaching situation and a rich teaching atmosphere can stimulate students' interest in learning English, make them have happy wings and step into English language communication and learning with a vision, thus improving their English communication ability. And return the classroom to students, so that students can actively participate in learning in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. This has become the goal pursued by our English teachers. To do this well, we need to accurately grasp the teaching objectives and contents, apply the correct theory of educational psychology, and select and adjust teaching strategies according to students' psychological characteristics and actual situation. Flexible use of various teaching skills and methods, continuous reflection on their own teaching behavior, and strive to become a research-oriented teacher.
