School crisis is an event that occurs inside and outside the school and brings harm to the whole school or teachers and students. Generally speaking, possible crisis events in primary and secondary schools can be divided into natural disasters and man-made disasters. Natural disasters include earthquakes and floods. Man-made disasters include poisoning, campus unrest, violence and infectious diseases. Of course, the crisis of school development, such as financial crisis, teacher crisis and student crisis, also belongs to the category of school crisis.
School crisis management refers to the strategic response process of school administrators to prevent, deal with and recover from school crisis according to the school crisis management system and plan, including prevention before the crisis, response during the crisis and recovery after the crisis.
Sudden school crisis, if not handled properly or in time, will have serious consequences. Crisis management plays an increasingly important role in school development.
I. Crisis prevention stage
Conduct crisis education. The ideal state of crisis management is to eliminate the crisis in the incubation period or embryonic stage. Therefore, it is very necessary to carry out crisis education for all teachers and students and improve their crisis awareness. Primary and secondary schools should incorporate anti-crisis simulation training for teachers and students into the teaching plan and carry out crisis management simulation training. Simulation training should include psychological training, knowledge training of crisis management and drills of basic skills of crisis management. In addition, according to the acceptance ability of primary and secondary school students, some relevant courses are set up appropriately, so that they can master some basic survival knowledge and skills in case of emergency.
