Life-oriented theory: the purpose of education is closely related to the life of the educated. They either put forward the theory that education should prepare for future life or the theory that education should adapt to life, because education is life itself. The typical representatives in this respect are Spencer and Dewey.
Social standard theory: compared with individual standard theory and children standard theory. Some people think that the purpose of education should be established according to the requirements of society. /kloc-in the second half of the 9th century, the main representatives of western social schools were Comte of France, nuttall of Germany and Durkheim of France.
The history of social standard theory
The "social school" represented by Durkheim believes that society is a real existence, and "people are actually people because they live in society". Therefore, the value of society is higher than that of individuals, and education should take meeting the needs of social development as the primary purpose, and everything in education should obey the will of society.
Representatives of other social schools have similar views:
Comte: "There is no real individual, only human beings exist, because no matter where we look, all our personal development depends on society."
Nadulp: "In fact, there are no individuals, because people are human only because they live in the crowd and participate in social life."
