Confucius (55 BC/KLOC-0 BC/-479 BC) was born in the State of Lu (now southeast of Qufu, Shandong) in the Spring and Autumn Period. The Analects of Confucius is an ancient thinker and educator in China. It is a book that records Confucius' words and deeds, is written for Confucius' disciples, and is a classic of Confucianism. In the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhu combined this book with Mencius. The Book of Songs was edited by Confucius. The Book of Songs is the earliest collection of poems in China. It records about 305 poems from the early Western Zhou Dynasty to the mid-Spring and Autumn Period, which are divided into three parts: "Feng", "Ya" and "Ode". The form is mainly four characters, and the techniques are mostly "Fu", "Bi" and "Xing". It is also called "poem" or "ode"

Zuo Qiuming was a historian who studied Lu in the Spring and Autumn Period. According to legend, he wrote Mandarin and Zuo Zhuan. Guoyu is the earliest national history book in China. It mainly records the speeches of the nobles of Zhou and Lu countries in the late Western Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period. Zuo Zhuan is the first chronological history book in China, which records more than 250 years since 722 BC according to Lu's lineage.

Qu Yuan (about 340- 278 BC) was born in the State of Chu in the Warring States Period. He is the first great patriotic poet in China and the founder of "Sao Poetry" (positive romanticism). He wrote twenty-five articles such as Li Sao, Nine Songs and Nine Chapters, which were included in the Songs of the South compiled by Liu Xiang in the Western Han Dynasty. Li Sao is the representative work of China in ancient times.

Sima Qian (about145-about 87 BC) was a historian, writer and thinker in the Western Han Dynasty. Ban Gu (32-92) was a historian and writer in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Han Shu was compiled by Ban Gu on the basis of Biography of Historical Records written by his father Ban Biao, which lasted for more than 20 years. This 120 volume book is China's first biographical chronology.

Cao Cao (155-220), born in Qiao County (now Bo County, Anhui Province), was a politician, strategist and poet at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Cao Cao and his sons Cao Pi and Cao Zhi are representative writers of Jian 'an literature. His poems are famous for their generosity and tragic. Lu Xun called him "Three Caos".

Searching for the Gods is a masterpiece of strange novels in Wei and Jin Dynasties. The original works are lost, including Gan Bao, Gan Bao, whose real name is Ling Sheng, and Cai in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (now Xincai, Henan Province).

Wang Bo (650-675) was born in Longmen, Jiangzhou (now Hejin City, Shanxi Province). He was a poet in the early Tang Dynasty. He, Yang Jiong, Lu and Luo are also called "four outstanding men in the early Tang Dynasty". His masterpiece is Preface to Wang Teng Pavilion.

Wang Wei (70 1-76 1), an idyllic poet in the Tang Dynasty, was also called "Wang Meng" with Meng Haoran. His works include Wang Youcheng Collection, and Su Shi called him "painting in poetry" and "painting in poetry".

Han Yu (768-824), known as Han Changli in the world, was born in Heyang (now Meng County, Henan Province) in the Tang Dynasty. He was a famous thinker, politician and writer in the Tang Dynasty. Together with Liu Zongyuan, he advocated the ancient prose movement, ranking first among the eight masters in the Tang and Song Dynasties. His works are collected in Collected Works of Mr. Changli.

He was a famous political innovator and writer in Song Dynasty, and one of the eight great masters in Tang and Song Dynasties. He wrote the Collected Works of Mr. Linchuan.

Su Shi (1037-1101), a famous writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, was born in Zizhan. With his father Su Xun and his brother Su Zhe, they are also called "Three Sus". He is a representative of the school of bold and unconstrained ci. He wrote the Complete Works of Dongpo.

Qin Guan (1049- 1 100), a poet in the Song Dynasty, was famous for his literature. He and Huang Tingjian, Chao are also called "Four Bachelor of Su Men".

Li Qingzhao (1084- 1 155), a famous poetess, was born in Jinan in the Song Dynasty. The poem Shu Yu Ci has been handed down from generation to generation. Her beautiful and fresh words are called "Yi 'an Style".

Guan Hanqing was a great dramatist in Yuan Dynasty. Together with Ma Zhiyuan, Bai Pu and Zheng Guangzu, he was called the four great composers in Yuan Dynasty. Representative works include Dou Eyuan, Wangjiang Pavilion, Saving the Wind and Dust, etc.

The Romance of the West Chamber, written by Wang Shifu, a writer of Yuan Zaju, is the longest play in Yuan Dynasty, which has the artistic achievement of "dominating the world" in Yuan Zaju.

Ma Zhiyuan (1250- 1323),No. Dongli, was a famous dramatist and Sanqu writer in Yuan Dynasty. His masterpieces are Autumn in the Han Palace and Qiu Si in the Patio.

Shi Naian was a novelist in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. Outlaws of the Marsh is the first novel describing the peasant struggle. Together with Romance of the Three Kingdoms, A Dream of Red Mansions and The Journey to the West, it is called the four classical novels of China.

Luo Guanzhong (about 1330—— about 1400), a novelist in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, was the first historical novel in China.

Yuan Hongdao (1568- 16 10), whose real name was Langzhong Shigong, was a public security officer in the Ming Dynasty (now Hubei Public Security). His elder brother (Bo Xiu) and younger brother (Xiao Xiu) are both good at literature, so they are called "Three Principles".

Wu Cheng'en (about 1500—— about 1582) was a novelist in Ming dynasty. The Journey to the West is a fairy tale and a masterpiece of romanticism.

Gui Youguang (1507- 157 1), known as Mr. Zhenchuan, was a famous ancient prose writer and essayist in Ming Dynasty. Later generations called him, Tang Shunzhi, Mao Kun and others "Tang and Song School". His representative works include Xuanzhi of Ji Xiang and Zhenchuan Collection.

Xia Wanchun (163 1- 1647) was born in Huating, Songjiang, Jin Shanghai. Nan Ming poet, anti-Qing general. The real name is fu, and the word is ancient. He has a collection of Xia Wanchun's works.

Pu Songling (1640- 17 15) was born in Zichuan, Shandong Province (now Zibo, Shandong Province) in the Qing Dynasty. When he was born, he had a collection of short stories called Strange Tales from a Lonely Studio.

Fang Bao (1668- 1749) was born in Tongcheng, Anhui Province in the Qing Dynasty. Together with Liu Dakui and Yao Nai, he is also known as the "three ancestors of Tongcheng School" and is a representative writer of Tongcheng School.

Peng Duanshu (1699- 1779), a native of Sichuan in the Qing Dynasty, is the author of Collection of White Crane Hall.

Wu (170 1- 1754) was a novelist in Qing dynasty. The Scholars is a satirical novel that criticizes the imperial examination system and feudal ethics.

Li Ruzhen (about 1763—— about 1830), a novelist in the Qing Dynasty, praised women's talents by telling stories about talented women such as Tang Ao and others.

His representative works, Travel Notes of Lao Can, The Appearance of Officialdom, The Strange Love of Wu for Twenty Years and Flowers of Evil, are collectively called the Late Qing Dynasty.

Liang Qichao (1873- 1929), a modern bourgeois reformer and scholar, was one of the leaders of the Reform Movement of 1898. He wrote The Collection of Drinking Rooms.

Lu Xun (188 1- 1936), formerly known as Zhou Shuren, was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. He is a great writer, thinker and revolutionary. China is the leader of proletarian revolutionary literature. "Lu Xun" is the pseudonym he used to publish Diary of a Madman, the first vernacular novel in the history of modern literature in China, in 19 18. His main works include novel collection "Scream", "Wandering", "New Stories", prose collection "Weeds", "Morning Flowers" and miscellaneous collection "Grave".

Zhou (1888- 1984), born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, is the younger brother of Lu Xun and a biologist. He is the author of A Brief Introduction to Biological Evolution, which translated Darwin's On the Origin of Species.

Guo Moruo (1892- 1978), formerly known as Kaizhen, was born in Leshan, Sichuan. He is an outstanding writer, poet, dramatist, historian and archaeologist in China. He once organized a famous literary group-"Creation Society" with Cheng, Yu Dafu. His first book of poetry, Goddess, is new in China.

Zhou Shoujuan (1894- 1968) is a modern writer and translator.

Ye Shengtao (1894- 1988), a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, was originally named Ye, a writer, educator and editor. The novel Ni Huanzhi is his masterpiece. He is also the earliest fairy tale writer in the history of modern literature in China. He has written Fairy Tales, Scarecrow, Stone Statues of Ancient Heroes and so on.

Mao Dun (1896- 198 1), formerly known as Shen Dehong, was born in Tongxiang, Zhejiang. He is an outstanding modern writer and one of the pioneers of the May 4th New Literature Movement. With Zheng Zhenduo and Wang Tongzhao, he initiated the establishment of the first new literary group in China-"Literature Research Association" and hosted the publication "Novel Monthly".

Xu Zhimo (1896- 193 1), pen name Yun Zhonghe, a native of Nanhu, Zhejiang Province, is a poet and scholar, and one of the main founders and members of Crescent Society. Poems include Zhi Mo, Cold Night, Tiger, etc. His masterpiece is Farewell to Kang.

Yu Dafu (1896- 1945), formerly known as Yu Wen, was born in Fuyang, Zhejiang. He is a famous modern writer and one of the founders of "Left-wing Writers". His masterpieces include the novel Sinking, as well as the famous novels "Indulge in the Spring Breeze One Night", "Wave Point" and "Chi Guihua".

Zhu Guangqian (1897- 1986) is a modern aesthetician and literary theorist. Pen name Meng Shi, from Tongcheng, Anhui. His representative works include Psychology of Literature and Art, On Poetry, Words on Beauty, etc. The History of Western Aesthetics edited by him is the first book in China that systematically discusses the history of western aesthetics.

Zhu Ziqing (1898- 1948), a native of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, is an essayist, poet, scholar and democracy fighter. Representative works include poetry anthology, prose anthology "Trace", "Back", "European Travel Notes", "Travel Notes of Song and Tang Dynasties" and so on.

Lao She (1899- 1966), a writer, was originally named Shu Qingchun, a Beijinger. 1950 was awarded the title of "People's Artist". Representative works include the novel Camel Xiangzi, Four Generations under One roof, and the drama Teahouse.

Wen Yiduo (1899- 1946), a native of Xishui, Hubei, is a poet and scholar. He Qifang (19 12- 1977), a native of Wanxian, Sichuan, is a poet and literary critic. His representative works include Prophecy, Night Song and Song of the Day.
