Vocational education is an important part of modern national education system, which plays a special and important role in implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and strengthening the country through talents. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council attached great importance to the development of vocational education. Since the reform and opening up, especially in recent years, they have actively promoted the development of vocational education and supported vocational education at all levels to achieve its own characteristics and level. Various regions and many enterprises have actively explored and accumulated a lot of experience. But on the whole, the development of vocational education is still a weak link, which does not meet the needs of economic and social development. Vigorously developing vocational education is both an urgent task and a long-term solution. At present, China's employment and economic development are facing two major changes. The employment of social labor force needs to strengthen skills training, and the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure needs to train more senior technicians. We should proceed from the overall situation of national modernization and deeply understand the importance and urgency of strengthening vocational education. Vigorously developing vocational education is an urgent need to promote China's industrialization and modernization. Basically realizing industrialization, vigorously promoting informatization and speeding up modernization are the strategic tasks of China's economic and social development in the first 20 years of this century. All walks of life in the national economy need not only a large number of scientists, engineers and management talents, but also tens of millions of highly skilled talents and hundreds of millions of high-quality workers.

Vigorously developing vocational education is an important way to promote social employment and solve the problems of agriculture, countryside and farmers. A large population and a large labor force, especially farmers, are our basic national conditions. Employment is a big problem that cannot be avoided and must be solved in China. At present, about 24 million urban laborers need employment every year, and a large number of rural surplus laborers need to be transferred. To promote social employment, we must develop vocational education and generally improve the employment and entrepreneurial ability of urban and rural labor force.

Legal basis: The newly revised Vocational Education Law further highlights the status and role of mechanic education. In Articles 10 and 15, "technical education", "technical school" and "technical college" appear many times, and it is clear that "technical education should be vigorously developed". It is the first time in history that mechanic education has been written into law so clearly, which also constitutes a beautiful landscape of the new vocational education law.
