The first head of the English Department was Puhua. At that time, there were Huang Hua, Chen, Ke Bainian, Ma and others who taught in our department. In the past half century, many famous English scholars in China, such as Zhou Jueliang, Liu Shimu, Wei Dongya, Chen Lin, Bo Bing, Zhao Dexin, Deng Yanchang, Wu,,, Zhang and so on, have all taught in the English Department. After years of hard work, the English Department has gradually formed a team of teachers with high academic level, rich teaching experience and strong professionalism.

At present, the teaching and research team of the English Department consists of a group of knowledgeable and experienced old professors and a group of young and middle-aged teachers who are young and successful in their studies. At present, the whole department has doctoral supervisors 12, 23 professors, more than 27 associate professors, and nearly 20 teachers with doctoral degrees. Hu Wenzhong, Qian Qing, Zhang Zhongzai, Mei Renyi and Wu Yi 'an, who are still working in our college, are well-known professors in China and stars in the English field of our college.
