College practical English test (PRETCO) is a national higher vocational education teaching test approved by the Ministry of Education. The examination is based on Basic Requirements for English Teaching in Higher Vocational Education.
Test both language knowledge and language skills, both general language content and application content related to foreign-related business. It is divided into Grade A and Grade B, and Grade B with a score of 60 or above is a pass; 85 or above is excellent. Those who pass the exam will be issued with the corresponding certificate of Practical English Test for Colleges and Universities.
Exam object:
This syllabus is applicable to higher vocational education, general junior college education, adult higher education and all the contents of the basic requirements for non-English majors in independent undergraduate course universities.
Examination nature:
The purpose of this examination is to assess the candidates' language knowledge, language skills and basic ability to handle general business and foreign-related communication in English, and its nature is a teaching level examination.
Examination method:
The examination method is written examination.
Examination content:
Including listening comprehension, grammatical structure, reading comprehension, translation (English-Chinese translation) and writing/Chinese-English translation. The scope of the examination is limited to all the contents specified in Grade B of the Basic Requirements.
