At present, there are two first-class institutions of higher learning 137 in China, including 42 world-class universities and 95 schools with world-class disciplines. There are 465 world-class disciplines, including 44 independent disciplines.

Definition of Double First-class University

Among the 42 first-class universities, 39 are 985 universities, including Yunnan University, Zhengzhou University, Xinjiang University, Northeastern University, Northwest A&F University and Hunan University. Yunnan University and Zhengzhou University were not 985 universities at the earliest.
