In March, 2003, Nanjing University formally established the College of Online Education. Modern distance education, as a new school-running form of Nanjing University, is an important part of talent training in Nanjing University. The online education college consists of four departments: office, educational administration enrollment department, teaching department and technology department, and has established off-campus learning centers all over the country. In the management and operation mechanism, a brand-new management mode of "running a school and running an enterprise" is implemented.
