The mass grave is located in the south of Datong mining area in Huainan City, Anhui Province, on a rocky mountain at the foot of Nanshan at the northern foot of Shungeng Mountain, which was formed in the spring of 1943. Japanese invaders occupied Datong coal mine during their invasion of China. In order to plunder coal resources and extract the blood and sweat of China people, they forced miners to work in extremely bad working and living conditions and were often killed. 1in the spring of 943, the Japanese aggressors ordered Wang Changming, the chief engineer, to rally the police and traitors, and forced the workers to dig three large pits with bayonets and whips, which were 5 meters deep, 20 meters long and more than 3 meters wide. In the future, whenever miners die, they will be thrown into "mass graves", and some will be dragged into the pits when they are still alive. According to the statistics of the enemy and puppet archives, as many as 1.3 million people were thrown into the pit. This is an irrefutable proof of the evil of Japanese imperialism's invasion of China, and it is also an excellent place to educate people, especially teenagers, in patriotism.
