Shihezi University, located in Shihezi City at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain in Xinjiang, is a new comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Agriculture, which was formed by the merger of the former Shihezi Agricultural College, Shihezi Medical College, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps School of Economics and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Teachers College 1996.

Tracing back to the history of running a school, Shihezi University has come from the smoke and gunfire of 1949 liberating the northwest, and it has been 50 years of Cang Sang and 50 years of glory. Over the past half century, Shihezi University has trained more than 40,000 graduates all over the country, north and south of Tianshan Mountain. He has undertaken more than 700 national, provincial and ministerial key scientific research projects and natural science foundation projects of relevant state ministries and commissions, achieved more than 400 scientific research achievements and won more than 250 awards at or above the provincial level, making indelible contributions to the economic construction and social development of the Corps and the autonomous region.
