Academy is an important educational organization form in feudal society since the Tang Dynasty, and its name began in the Tang Dynasty. There were two groups of places called academies. Academy sprouted fish ponds, but as an educational system, it was formed and reborn in Song Dynasty. In the early Song Dynasty, some famous academies appeared in the great development.

The Yuan Dynasty established the first academy-Taiji Academy. Then, there are often cases in which the army harassed the teaching activities of the academy. In Yuan Shizu, imperial edicts prohibited the invasion of academies, and the destruction of academies in the war was still very serious.
