In Kodaly's music education system, "Let music belong to everyone" and "Music will accompany everyone's survival and development" are its most important ideas. He believes that music is closely related to human life itself. People can't live without music. Without music, there is no perfect life. He firmly believes that music has the power to shape character and even transform people, and his feelings for people all his life can't be replaced by any language.
He also pointed out that the study of music should dilute and abandon utilitarian purposes. "Life will be better if you don't take music as a means of making a living" is his famous motto of music education. School music education should first be based on folk music, which is one of the important principles of Kodaly's educational thought.
