The Southwest Basic Education Curriculum Research Center of the Ministry of Education was established in June 2000. It is one of the earliest basic education curriculum research centers established by the Ministry of Education in National Normal University.

The main task is to verify the adaptability of National Basic Education Curriculum Standards in Southwest China.
