Yunnan University was founded in 1922 as a private Donglu University, 1934 changed its name to provincial Yunnan University, and 1938 changed its name to national Yunnan University. It is one of the earliest comprehensive universities in the western frontier of China. From 65438 to 0937, Xiong Qing, a famous mathematician and educator, served as the principal, and a large number of famous scholars were employed to teach in the school.

2. Kunming University of Science and Technology

Kunming University of Science and Technology was founded in 1954, renamed Kunming University of Science and Technology in 1995, and merged with Yunnan University of Technology in 1999 to form a new Kunming University of Science and Technology.

Southwest Forestry University is the only independent forestry undergraduate college in western China, with forestry as the main subject, ecological environment as the feature, and coordinated development of science, engineering, agriculture, literature, law and art. It is also the national education and training plan for outstanding talents in agriculture and forestry, the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, and the supporting institutions for basic capacity building projects in universities in the central and western regions.

5. Kunming Medical University

Kunming Medical University, referred to as "Kunming Medical University" for short, is the largest medical college integrating teaching, medical treatment and scientific research in Yunnan Province, and it is the national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest".
