Lindong Middle School was formerly Wuxi Jingzhi Girls' School, founded by Hou Hongjian.

He also edited Wuxi Education, initiated the establishment of Wuxi Library and County People's Education Museum, and compiled Supplement to Wuxi Jingui County Records.

After the liberation of Wuxi, he was gloriously elected as a representative of Wuxi people and a member of CPPCC. 1961On June 9th, Hou Hongjian died of illness at the age of 90.

He wrote a lot in his life, including 57 kinds of books, such as Sick Survival, Cang Poems, educational science books, travel notes, etc., which left valuable wealth for Wuxi's modern educational history.

As one of the earliest girls' schools in China, Jingzhi Girls' School existed under the name of "Jingzhi" until 1953. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, under the auspices of Hou Hung-chien, Jingzhi Girls' School resumed classes in the Shanghai Concession. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the school moved back to Wuxi, and Hou Hongjian succeeded the principal at the age of 73. 1953, the school was renamed Wuxi No.2 Girls' Middle School, with Hou Hongjian as honorary principal and later renamed Wuxi No.12 Middle School. 1972.
