In recent years, many schools in the United States, including universities and junior high schools, have added a new payment method, PeerTransfer, which requires a registered account. In fact, it is an intermediary agency for remittance and transfer. Parents can pay directly in RMB to the domestic intermediary cooperation agency, which will automatically convert RMB into US dollars and then transfer it to the designated American school account. The advantage of this method is that it can be paid in RMB, and it is not subject to the limit of $50,000 per person per year stipulated by the Bank of China. The operation is simpler than bank transfer, and the handling fee fluctuates with the exchange rate, which is slightly lower than credit card transfer. Payment is required to be completed within 5 days after the payment date is locked. If the payment is not completed, you need to re-operate and recalculate the exchange rate and handling fee.
2. Bank remittance draft
According to the bank account information provided by the study abroad school, the payment is made directly by bank transfer. This payment method is to deposit US dollars first, and then directly transfer payment in US dollars, which is more economical. If there is no intermediary bank transfer, you only need to pay an extra handling fee of about 50-250 yuan RMB (this is the handling fee charged by domestic banks, and the handling fee of each bank is different), but the disadvantage of this method is that it is relatively troublesome to operate. It is recommended to pay the fee at the bank counter for the first time to ensure the success of the first transfer, and you can learn about the operation process of online overseas transfer and remittance from the teller. You can transfer money through online banking in the future, and you will be more skilled after only one operation.
Step 3 pay by credit card
Paying by credit card or debit card is relatively simple and quick to operate. The school will provide a credit card or debit card payment link, click and enter the bank card information to complete the payment. If you pay by credit card, you can settle in RMB with or without US dollars. If it is a debit card payment, there should be enough dollars on the card. The disadvantage of this method is that there are many procedures. The handling fee for credit cards is about 2.5% to 3%, and that for debit cards is about 1% to 1.5%.
