Quality education is a brand-new concept and perspective in the process of education. From the perspective of quality education, the current primary school physical education teaching still faces serious problems such as relatively backward teaching concept, unclear educational subject, lack of teaching objectives and outdated teaching methods. The fundamental purpose of quality education is to improve the comprehensive practical ability of primary school students, including knowledge learning ability, practical ability, physical quality and psychological quality. Physical education teaching is an important process to improve the physical ability of primary school students, and it can also stimulate their learning motivation. This is an important subject under the background of quality education. In the process of physical education teaching, it is necessary to strengthen the solution of physical education problems and the innovation of physical education teaching mode, so that primary school students are more interested in physical education learning and get more progress and success in the process of physical education learning.
1, the current problems in primary school physical education teaching
In recent years, the society has gradually formed the form of national sports, and more and more people have begun to attach importance to physical exercise, and physical education has received more and more attention in the process of primary education. However, there are still some problems in the process of education because the traditional educational concept does not attach importance to physical education.
First, the teaching concept is relatively old. In the current physical education teaching process, the teaching concept is still relatively old, and physical education teaching also adopts the conventional model. It focuses on imparting sports knowledge and skills, and pays little attention to the main position of primary school students. Under the background of the new curriculum reform, high requirements are put forward for the level of physical practice ability of primary school students. In the process of learning, primary school students should learn how to use physical education courses to improve their physical and mental health, rather than simply mastering various sports movements. However, due to the deep-rooted traditional educational concept, there are many problems in the physical education curriculum of primary and secondary schools in reality. Physical education class lost its due significance by still adopting traditional teaching methods.
Second, the teaching methods are relatively backward. At present, the comprehensive ability level of primary school physical education teachers is still relatively weak. In the process of teaching, many teachers still use the traditional way to conduct cramming education, and take the syllabus as the main teaching resource. In the process of education, they don't realize that primary school students are the main body, which makes the range of physical education learning materials that students contact relatively narrow. Students seldom consider things other than sports knowledge in the learning process, and the application of various new media in the teaching process is insufficient, which does not combine the characteristics and background of the information age, making sports learning a mechanized process.
Third, the effectiveness of physical education teaching is poor. At present, the physical education teaching effect in many primary schools in China is not good. It can be said that the whole education process did not pay attention to the combination of sports and sports spirit, and the teaching process became a simple preaching. In this formal education process, students are not treated as living individuals, which makes real physical education far from the essence of life and erases students' enthusiasm.
2. Primary school physical education teaching methods

Primary school physical education is an important process to improve the physical and mental health of primary school students. In the current education process, due to the outdated concept of physical education in primary schools, various theoretical contents in education are still the main teaching materials, resulting in low teaching efficiency. In the process of primary education, it is necessary to strengthen the reform of various traditional concepts and the application of people-oriented educational concepts. In this process, we should realize that primary school students are the main body of physical education, and take improving primary school students' physical literacy as the principle and goal of physical education to ensure that it is consistent with the concept of quality education. We should change the traditional education mode in which teachers give lectures and students imitate exercises, so that students can become the main body in the education process and build a new learning environment based on interest and development in the learning process. Primary schools should establish the direction of lifelong physical education oriented by "health first", optimize physical education courses, give full play to the initiative of primary school students in the process of physical education learning, and let primary school students really fall in love with physical education courses and learn more new knowledge from them. Of course, teachers should also master new educational ideas, realize good interaction with primary school students, pay more attention to primary school students in the process of physical education learning, understand their state and grasp their weaknesses, so as to constantly adjust teaching plans and improve their physical education practice ability.
2.2. Strengthen the application of new media.
At present, primary education has been trying to explore effective ways of quality education. Physical education class is an important course to cultivate primary school students' physical ability and quality. However, due to the influence of traditional exam-oriented education in China, the old ideas in the education process are still serious. Under the background of quality education, physical education has been paid more and more attention, and physical education should strengthen the application of new media according to the characteristics of the current information age background. First of all, we should strengthen our understanding of new media education and PE teachers should redesign the teaching objectives of primary schools. Especially at present, the application of new media has become more and more mature. In the process of education, we should formulate primary school physical education teaching strategies under the new media environment, so as to improve the teaching efficiency of primary schools. Secondly, it is necessary to cultivate primary school students' interest in sports with the help of new media platforms. Due to the influence of exam-oriented education, many primary school students pay little attention to physical education. In the current education process, we should constantly improve the interest of primary school students in learning. For example, we can play some interesting sports videos to primary school students with the help of new media, so that primary school students can enhance their interest in sports and learn more about sports in the process of watching these sports videos. In addition to traditional sports, we should also strengthen the introduction of other sports, such as roller skating, which is a favorite sport of many primary school students. In the teaching process, we can strengthen the introduction of these sports, make use of new media resources to enrich primary school students' understanding of this sport, and let primary school students really like sports in the process of participating in activities, so as to turn their love for sports into motivation for learning, gradually integrate into the classroom atmosphere, and improve their interest in physical education class.
2.3, strengthen the teaching of extracurricular activities.
It is difficult to improve the physical application ability of primary school students only by relying on the limited time of classroom teaching. In the process of education, physical education class can be extended to after class, so that primary school students can learn after class and deepen their exercise. In the process of after-class practice, we should pay attention to two aspects. First, strengthen cooperation. In the process of extracurricular practice teaching, the cooperation between primary school students is a very important aspect. Many primary school students are not interested in physical exercise themselves, but once other primary school students are together, their interest will be much higher. So you can do cooperative exercises after class. Cooperative learning refers to the process of primary school students forming groups to discuss under the guidance of teachers. For physical education courses, in the process of strengthening the cultivation of primary school students' sports cooperation ability, primary school students can be divided into different groups, so that primary school students can compete in groups, cultivate their cooperation spirit and consciousness, and also promote exchanges and communication among primary school students. In the teaching process, teachers should reserve preview time for primary school students, such as holding some competitions after class. Pupils can discuss tactics through their own discussions, so that they can learn to think independently and solve problems independently in the process of discussing with other pupils, instead of relying on teachers blindly. Second, organize some interesting games. In the process of after-class teaching, we should also organize more interesting games. Pupils are more interested in games. Integrating some sports into the game process can make primary school students get effective exercise in the process of participating in the game.

To sum up, in the process of primary school teaching, the concept of quality education is a brand-new teaching concept, that is, paying attention to the all-round cultivation of students in the teaching process. Reflected in the specific teaching process, it is to take students as the center, grasp the correct educational goals and realize efficient education. There are still some problems in the process of primary school physical education teaching. In the future educational process, we should strengthen the improvement of traditional educational concepts, the application of new media platforms and resources, mobilize students' enthusiasm and create good conditions for their study.
