The Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) is the the State Council department in charge of education and language work in the State Council, People's Republic of China (PRC). As of July 20 17, the Ministry of Education has 19 internal departments, among which "Secretariat of China National Committee for UNESCO" is one of them. In addition, the Ministry of Education directly manages 15 educational social groups and organizations.

Comprehensively implement the educational principles, policies and regulations of the party and the state, study and formulate specific principles and policies for ethnic education, and organize their implementation;

To study and formulate the national education development plan and annual development plan, draw up the focus, scale, speed and steps of education development, and organize, guide and coordinate the implementation of the national education development plan, annual plan, education system reform and school-running system reform.

The main responsibilities of the State Education Bureau are:

1, responsible for national basic education (including preschool education), special education, vocational and technical education, after-school education, adult education and higher education (including running schools by social forces), and coordinating, guiding and supervising the education work of all districts, counties (countries) and relevant departments.

2, responsible for the construction of ethnic teachers and education administrative cadres, responsible for the qualification of ethnic primary and secondary school principals; Participate in the formulation of relevant policies and rules and regulations on personnel management in the national education system; Guide the reform of education and personnel system, and organize the implementation of employment distribution for graduates of normal universities.

3, overall management of the department's education funds; Participate in the formulation of laws and regulations on education financing, education loans, education fees and education infrastructure investment.

4. Be responsible for the adjustment of network layout planning of various schools in China, and the management of school infrastructure, school buildings, school property and educational land.

5, responsible for the management of national academic education and examination work. Work with relevant departments to study and formulate enrollment plans for schools of all levels and types throughout the country. Responsible for continuing education, adult self-study exams, and eliminating illiteracy among young people.

6. To be responsible for managing, coordinating and guiding the foreign affairs of the education system; Responsible for reviewing overseas students with college education or above; Responsible for coordinating educational exchanges with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
