According to the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Beijing Science Popularization Base continues to support scientific and technological innovation and economic and social development. The newly named 34 popular science bases have three characteristics: first, they guide enterprises to increase investment in science and technology, and enterprise-based popular science bases account for 40% of the total number of bases; Second, the base area is closely integrated with hot spots such as ecological environment protection, which further supports the implementation of relevant public affairs policies; Third, the wide application of new technologies and new media makes popular science communication more interesting and closer to life.
Behind the vigorous development of popular science bases, it is inseparable from the attention and promotion of government management departments. In order to strengthen the construction of popular science infrastructure in Beijing and mobilize social forces to participate in popular science work, in 2007, Beijing formulated the Interim Measures for the Management of Popular Science Bases in Beijing, which classified and named popular science bases for the first time in China. In order to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of popular science work from all walks of life, give full play to the role of popular science resources, carry out popular science education activities for the public, actively promote the socialization, popularization and daily work of popular science, and serve the implementation of the strategy of "rejuvenating the country through science and education" and improving the scientific and cultural quality of the public.
1999, China association for science and technology began to establish a national science education base. China Association for Science and Technology named the first batch of 20 1 national popular science education bases, which were recommended by national and provincial associations for science and technology and reviewed by relevant experts.
