Hong Kong University of Education is a teacher-oriented university in Hong Kong. Formerly known as the Hong Kong Institute of Education, it is one of the eight statutory public universities under the University Grants Committee.

Hong Kong University of Education can be traced back to 1853, St. Paul's College, which was established in the middle of Qing Dynasty, and 188 1 the first normal government college in Hong Kong. The school has a history of 160 years.

As of 20 18, Hong Kong University of Education has five university-level and ten college-level R&D centers, covering the fields of education, social sciences and humanities.
