Vimalakīrti is suffering from illness.
The Buddha led the people to Baye City, where there was an old man named Vimalakīrti. Although he is a layman, he is "guided by the pure Samana law" and his wisdom is detached. The Buddha learned that Vimalakīrti lay man was ill and invited Manjusri Bodhisattva to greet him.

The Bodhisattva asked the layman, "Why are you sick? The layman replied that he has been suffering from this disease for a long time: "From infatuation to love, I am sick, and everyone is sick, so I am sick; If everyone gets sick, I will die. When the bodhisattva enters life and death with illness, and everyone gets rid of illness, then the bodhisattva will not get sick again. 」

It turned out that Vimalakīrti lay man wanted to tell everyone through his illness that the Bodhisattva is merciful and compassionate, loves all sentient beings like children, and cannot bear to be haunted by troubles such as greed and delusion, so he threw himself at all sentient beings, so there will be life and death. Because there is life and death, you will get sick. As long as all sentient beings are freed from physical diseases and heart diseases, Bodhisattva will naturally be disease-free.

Compassion helps all those who suffer.

In the morning meeting, Master Yan Zheng taught the public that the illness of the Bodhisattva comes from the great compassion of "people hurt me, people suffer and I am sad", and the pain of all beings is the pain of the Bodhisattva. "If not, Sri Lanka and other tsunami-stricken places are so far away from Taiwan Province Province, what does it matter to you and me? Because of his unbearable heart, Tzu Chi left tears and footprints on the broken land to embrace and comfort the suffering people. 」

"Within the three realms, the whole world is like a big family. The Buddha is like the elder of this big family, and cherishing all beings is like cherishing his only son; He can't bear to let his children get hurt, suffer and suffer. Therefore, when the Buddha educates all sentient beings, he always hopes that everyone has a great compassion. When he sees someone suffering in the world, he will be unwilling to help. 」
