College is a secondary college under Xi 'an University of Science and Technology. Adult education in Xi 'an University of Science and Technology was founded in 1960, and was forced to stop during the Cultural Revolution. 1980 classes resumed and the correspondence department of Xi 'an Mining Institute was established. 1994 the adult education college was established on the basis of the original correspondence department, and in 2005 it was renamed the continuing education college of Xi 'an University of Science and Technology. Its functional business has expanded from single adult education in the past to adult academic education, various trainings and general higher education enrolled by separate examinations in the coal mine system. College is not only an independent school-running entity, but also a full-time management institution of adult education in the whole school. It is also an important window for school publicity. There are 4 departments, 16 administrators, more than 8,000 registered adult students and 559 registered students of general higher education in coal industry.
