According to Wu Jun in the Southern Dynasties, Tian Zhen, Ching Tien and Tian Guang separated and decided to divide the bauhinia tree in the yard into three sections, one for each family. When the tree was cut down the next day, Bauhinia was already dead. When Tian Zhen saw this scene, he told his two younger brothers that the tree had heard that it had been divided into three sections and died. We are really not as good as that tree, and then we are overwhelmed by sadness. Regardless of the three decisions, the bauhinia tree actually came back to life. Therefore, later generations used "Bauhinia" as a metaphor for brothers being connected by flesh and blood. "Jing Shu has flowers, and brothers have fun" means that brothers are harmonious and their family business is prosperous.
