Jiangsu Province, referred to as "Su" for short, is the provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC) (China), with Nanjing as its capital. Located in the Yangtze River Delta region, along the eastern coast of Chinese mainland, the land span is 30 45' ~ 35 08' north latitude, bordering Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shandong provinces. The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, together with Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui, has become one of the six world-class urban agglomerations. Jiangsu's total area 107200 square kilometers. Statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics show that in 20021year, the resident population of Jiangsu Province was 85.054 million.
Jiangsu Province was founded in the early Qing Dynasty, named after Jiangning and Suzhou. Jiangsu is one of the cradles of China's ancient civilization, with multi-cultural and regional characteristics such as Wu, Jinling, Huaiyang, Chu and Han, and there are 13 national historical and cultural cities. Jiangsu lies across the river and faces the sea, with many lakes and flat terrain. The terrain consists of plains, waters and low hills. East of the Yellow Sea, across the Yangtze River and Huaihe River. Jiangsu geographically spans the north and south, and its climate and vegetation have both characteristics of the north and the south.
Jiangsu is located in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and all the 13 districts and cities under its jurisdiction have entered the top 100 in China, and the number of counties and towns in the top 100 comprehensive strength ranks first in the country. The development and livelihood index (DLI) of Jiangsu ranks first in China, and it is the province with the highest comprehensive development level in China.
