There are 62 faculty members in the Department of Mathematics, including 8 professors and 0/3 associate professors. Among young and middle-aged teachers, 6 have doctoral degrees (postdoctoral 1) and 35 have master's degrees. There are 2 doctoral students and 2 master students 10. There are 4 top-notch talents, 2 academic leaders and 2 young and middle-aged backbone teachers. Four of them are part-time tutors of graduate students from Shaanxi Normal University, Northwest University, xidian university and xi University of Technology, and five of them are standing directors or directors of Shaanxi Mathematics Society, Shaanxi Electronics Society, Shaanxi Education Metrology and Evaluation Society and Shaanxi Industrial and Applied Mathematics Society respectively. In the past five years, three young teachers in the Department of Mathematics won the first prize, five second prizes and three third prizes in the college-level speech contest.
In recent years, while doing a good job in teaching, we have actively carried out teaching research and scientific research, taking the road of leading teaching with scientific research and promoting teaching with scientific research. In the past five years, in scientific research, it has undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation project 1, 5 provincial and ministerial projects and 33 other scientific research projects, with research funding of nearly 600,000 yuan. He has published more than 100 academic papers in core and above journals, won 2 provincial and ministerial SCIentific research achievement awards and 25 other awards, and his published papers have been included by sci and EI. In teaching research, he undertook the teaching reform project 1 1, including 2 provincial and ministerial projects and 9 other projects, published 48 teaching research papers, won 2 provincial excellent teaching achievement awards and 5 college excellent teaching achievement awards.
The course construction has also made gratifying achievements. Mathematical analysis, advanced algebra, advanced mathematics, ordinary differential equations, probability and mathematical statistics are listed as key construction courses at the college level, among which mathematical analysis, probability and mathematical statistics and analytic geometry are rated as excellent courses at the college level.
Significant achievements have been made in the construction of study style, students' study and various activities in the Department of Mathematics. In the past three years, 43 graduation theses have been rated as excellent graduation theses at the college level, and more than 50 papers have been published by students. He has won the first and second prizes for many times in social practice essay contest, league member knowledge contest, school rules and disciplines knowledge contest, college students' scientific and technological innovation contest, and winter and summer vacation software and web page making contest. The number of graduates admitted to graduate schools has increased year by year, including 4 in 2003, 4 in 2004 12, 3 in 2006, 34 in 2007, 26 in 2008 and 42 in 2009. In 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, the graduation rate of higher vocational graduates was around 60%, and in 2009, the graduation rate of higher vocational graduates was 96%, which was among the best in Shaanxi Province.
After more than 30 years of running a school, the Department of Mathematics has trained more than 2,500 graduates and trained a large number of key talents for basic education, mathematical theory research and application in China, especially in Shaanxi Province. Graduates have a solid professional foundation, high comprehensive quality, strong working ability and positive progress, and have made outstanding achievements in their respective posts. Among them, more than 70 people have held leadership positions such as district and county education directors, middle school principals and teaching directors. More than 250 people have become backbone teachers of provincial key middle schools, provincial and municipal teaching experts and teaching rookies, and outstanding teachers such as Li Xinghuai, Yang, Ma Yuhuan and Yang Zhongtai and national model teachers have emerged. While actively cultivating basic educators, it has also contributed to the cultivation of national high-level research talents. Among the graduates, more than 300 have obtained master's degrees and more than 60 have obtained doctor's degrees. Zhao Bin, a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of Baoji University of Arts and Sciences, became the vice president and doctoral supervisor of Shaanxi Normal University. Zhao, a 79-year-old doctor, graduated from Nanjing University and actively returned to his alma mater, with outstanding achievements in teaching and scientific research. He was employed as a tutor for master students of Shaanxi Normal University and concurrently served as vice president of Baoji University of Arts and Sciences. Nearly 40 people, including Mao Kuanmin, Sheng Baohuai, Zhao Yulin and Li Jianlin, have become professors, master's tutors and doctoral tutors in national key universities.
