Understanding of teaching and scientific research
Scientific research promotes teaching. Research schools require primary and secondary school teachers to become researchers and become the main body of research. However, in the actual operation process, because primary and secondary school teachers undertake a large number of educational and teaching tasks, they often seem to be at a loss about educational and scientific research, and as a result, they have not achieved the goal of revitalizing education and schools. In view of this phenomenon, people question the necessity and possibility of primary and secondary school teachers participating in educational research. The author thinks that the research on primary and secondary education is not only necessary, but also possible. The key is to solve four positioning problems.

1. 1 The main purpose of primary and secondary education research is to communicate educational theory and practice.

(1) From the function of primary and secondary education research. Primary and secondary education research is the scientific research and development of primary and secondary education practice, and it is also the exploration and grasp of the laws of primary and secondary education. Its function is to strengthen the educational concept of primary and secondary school teachers, improve their level and ability to implement quality education, and promote the reform and development of primary and secondary education.

(2) From the effectiveness of primary and secondary education research. The purpose of educational research in primary and secondary schools is mainly to improve educational and teaching practice. The teacher's role as a practitioner determines that it is not necessary and impossible for him to build a systematic educational science theory as his research purpose.

(3) From the nature of primary and secondary education research. The scientific research conducted by practitioners in primary and secondary schools is different from that conducted by full-time educational researchers. If the fundamental purpose of the latter is to construct a systematic educational research theory and guide educational practice, then the purpose of educational research in primary and secondary schools is to communicate educational theory and practice.

1.2 The main position of education and scientific research in primary and secondary schools is the classroom.

(1) From the research object of education and scientific research in primary and secondary schools. The study of primary and secondary education takes the phenomena and laws of primary and secondary education as the research object. Classroom is a gathering place for many hot and difficult points in education and teaching. Many educational and teaching ideas and viewpoints often collide and promote each other here, and many educational and teaching experiences and achievements are produced here.
