Lin Fengmian was one of the earliest painters in China who received western art education. While studying in France, he not only accepted the post-Impressionist western modern art style, but also studied precious China art in the Oriental Museum and ceramics museum. He not only copied the technique, but also absorbed its artistic essence.
Lin Fengmian, who studied western art, never forgot the traditional oriental art, knew the strengths of eastern and western art, formed the artistic thought of "combining Chinese and western" and created a brand-new painting style.

His adopted daughter Feng Ye takes care of his daily life, exhibitions, selling paintings and other things. This is the most comfortable and free period for him in decades.
This period is characterized by diligent painting, many works and many acquisitions and collections. Most of his works in the 1940s and 1970s were destroyed by the Cultural Revolution. After arriving in Hong Kong, he painted many works recalling his old works, including scenery, still life, ladies, flowers and birds and opera figures.
