Huazhong Normal University (hereinafter referred to as "Huazhong Normal University") is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province. It is a key comprehensive normal university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), and is jointly built by the Ministry of Education and the Hubei Provincial People's Government. It ranks among the national "double first-class", "2 1 1 engineering" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform".

Selected into the national "20 1 1 plan", "kloc-0/1plan", "national training plan", top-notch student training plan for basic subject 2.0, excellent teacher training plan, national postgraduate plan for building high-level universities, national cultural quality education base for college students, and founding university of China-Japan University Alliance for Humanities Exchange.

On the basis of the private Huazhong University founded by 1924 and Zhongyuan University founded by 1949, the school established the public Huazhong University on 195 1, and was transformed into Huazhong Normal University on 1952,1953,652.

As of June, 2022, the school covers an area of 6.5438+0.6 million square meters and has more than 3 million books. There are 28 teaching and research institutions and 75 undergraduate majors.
