20 19 Taipei International Computer Exhibition: Intel's five platform innovations promote the next wave of computing.
On May 29th, 20 19, Intel demonstrated how its PC platform can provide a comprehensive PC experience for the present and the future, including hardware and software innovation, new laptop prototype, artificial intelligence (AI), atmospheric computing and modular computing.

Jim Johnson, Intel's vice president and general manager of client engineering, said: "Intel has always brought leading performance, driven huge projects with deep cooperation, enriched and expanded new designs, which will accelerate the innovation of the platform and put new computing performance and command in human hands. At the Taipei International Computer Show, Intel introduced AI into PC by taking the lead in promoting some projects similar to the Athena project, and continued to lead the transformation of PC ecosystem, demonstrating its ability to build a future platform. "

With the explosive growth of data, Intel is creating a future with powerful performance, environment and seamless computing to ensure that the current personal computer can adapt to the future user experience and workload. The data-centric future needs a new platform, which will make devices smarter and more adaptable, so that people can focus, create and connect in a more meaningful way.

The following are five major advances of Intel's computer platform during the Taipei International Computer Show:

Code-named "Athena Project", Intel's notebook computer innovation project is helping people to use laptops quickly and seamlessly in an intuitive way of human existence, while extending battery life and helping to maintain reliability. At the Taipei International Computer Show, Intel demonstrated how to use Windows Hello and Intel environment awareness technology to achieve this more natural login method without manual password, thus creating an advanced notebook computer that can help people concentrate, be ready at any time and adapt to different roles all day.

Extending this innovation to high-performance systems, Intel demonstrated a brand-new concept codenamed "Honeycomb Glacier", which can provide a richer experience for players and creators. The concept of Honeycomb Glacier focuses on the integrated supporting display screen, which can provide more screen space for games and creations in portable devices. By displaying key information on the support screen for a long time, this design allows you to access the level map, inventory, status and other content without overlapping applications or switching between programs, bringing a more immersive game experience. The supporting display screen can also play games and broadcast live at the same time, giving broadcasters the opportunity to interact with their own audiences in real time without sacrificing game operation.

Based on this far-sighted concept, Intel is working with original equipment manufacturers to bring these supporting display systems equipped with the new ninth-generation Intel Core mobile processors to market. The first product is the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo equipped with ScreenPad Plus.

In addition, the new laptop will support Wi-Fi 6, which can bring excellent Wi-Fi experience through the router supporting Wi-Fi 6. Intel announced that AVM, Edimax, Elecom, NETGEAR and TP-Link will release routers based on the new Wi-Fi 6 standard this year.

Intel is realizing an increasingly immersive, connected and intelligent computing experience. In the future, personal computers must adapt to people's needs and have the characteristics of always being connected, always being conscious, always being conscious and being able to inform intelligently. In order to know in advance how computing will develop in the future, the company showed the prototype of Intel's "atmospheric computing concept PC" code-named Mohawk River at the exhibition, and showed what progress notebook computers will make in the future:

Intel also showed how to use Windows Hello and Intel. Human interaction methods such as situational awareness technology bring advanced laptop experience, help people to be more focused and ready at any time, and can adapt to various scenarios all day.

Software, development tools, operating systems and hardware are all changing rapidly to take advantage of deep learning technology and other modern artificial intelligence technologies. Artificial intelligence will also change the way people interact and use personal computers, including great leap in productivity, improvement of dynamic performance, automatic content editing and so on.

At the Taipei International Computer Show, Intel announced its cooperation with Microsoft and Asus to launch the world's first PC-based artificial intelligence development kit, and to build a brand-new notebook computer equipped with the latest artificial intelligence software and hardware technology, so that developers can be at the forefront of artificial intelligence application development.

The development kit contains a powerful combination of Intel Core processors and Intel HD graphics cards, and introduces the Intel Movidius Myriad X vision processing unit for the first time to realize artificial intelligence workload with high performance and low power consumption. These three hardware engines will undertake artificial intelligence workloads in different ranges, providing comprehensive native artificial intelligence functions for today's notebook computers.

The PC-based artificial intelligence development kit also includes a set of pre-installed software, which enables developers to use it out of the box from concept to creation, including the latest Windows ML library, cross-platform Intel OpenVINO toolkit, and all supporting tools needed for end-to-end artificial intelligence application development on PC.

Modular computing is still a key opportunity for the development of the industry, which brings new development opportunities for equipment manufacturers, PC manufacturers and any manufacturers that provide computing solutions in the industry, integrating computing and connectivity into everything, including consumer, commercial and industrial applications.

Today, Intel announced the launch of Intel NUC computing unit, which supports the modular computing industry standards with Intel architecture, standard computing technologies and interfaces. The device integrates Intel processor, memory, network connection and other components, and can support notebook computers, self-service terminals, smart TVs, home appliances and other solutions. Intel NUC computing unit can provide incredible performance and amazing connectivity at low cost, while making the next generation of devices easy to integrate, upgrade and service computing. One of the partners who take advantage of these advantages is JP, which is integrating computing units into JP laptops, mainly for higher education, teachers and administrators. By designing around the computing unit, JP can provide a wide range of performance options through a single product design, thus reducing costs and increasing product supply.

Initially, the NUC computing unit will provide a series of processors, including Intel? Borui? A version of processor technology that improves reliability and manageability. The first batch of partners will start receiving products in the fourth quarter of 20 19. Products equipped with Intel NUC computing units are expected to be available in the first half of 2020.

Intel announced the launch of Intel's next-generation Snapdragon technology-Intel Snapdragon technology M 15. Intel Aoteng Technology M 15 will be launched in the second half of 20 19. Compared with the previous generation, it has higher performance and lower power consumption. Combined with the ninth generation Intel Core mobile and desktop platforms, users will experience shorter startup time, faster application startup and faster games and browsing.

This is based on the introduction of Intel Aoteng hybrid solid-state hard disk H 10 with solid-state storage. This innovative device combines the excellent response capability of Intel Opteron technology and the powerful storage capability of Intel Quad-Layer Cell (QLC)3D NAND technology into a space-saving M.2 module. Integrating high-speed acceleration technology and large-capacity solid-state disk into one drive will benefit daily PC application users. Whether creating, playing games or working, they can not only access frequently used applications and files faster, but also speed up the response of background activities.
