Jiujiang Vocational College is a public full-time ordinary college approved by the Ministry of Education 1985, and the only municipal higher vocational college in Jiujiang.

The school is now a model vocational college and civilized unit in Jiangxi Province, and was rated as "the most influential vocational college in China" by Xinhuanet. It is a national university implementing kindergarten teacher training program, a national professional college of service industry development capability engineering, a national training base of dual-new talent plan, a rural primary and secondary school (kindergarten) teacher orientation training base and a rural labor force transfer training base in Jiangxi Province, and a national demonstration base of volunteer service for the disabled.
