Kaiping has a long history.

A.D. 1573 (the first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty): Xiejiacangbu village in the northeast of Enping, named Kaipingtun, became the later county seat. Gregorian calendar 1643 (in the 16th year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty): Shen Youlong, governor of Guangdong Province, wrote to the imperial court with the title of building Kaiping County. The Ministry approved the establishment of Kaiping County. Qing soldiers entered the customs, and the county was put on hold 1649 (three years in Li Yong, Nanming, and eight years in Shunzhi, Qing Dynasty): The Ritual Department of Nanming approved the establishment of Kaiping County and appointed wu shichang as the magistrate. Jurisdiction is included in Xinhui, Enping and Xinxing, including Dengming Ferry, Gubodu, Pingkang Ferry, Dexing Ferry, Shuangqiao Ferry and Changjiang Ferry.
1949 10 Kaiping1liberation on October 23rd. Today is Kaiping Liberation Day. On October 5th, A.D. 1993:65438/KLOC-0, the State Council approved the withdrawal of counties and the establishment of cities (county-level), and the cities were directly administered by the provinces (the provinces entrusted Jiangmen as the custodian). Take the original administrative area of Kaiping County as the administrative area of Kaiping City, without increasing the organization and establishment.
