What is a regular class?
An educational institution that trained opera actors in the old society. Most classes are run by private individuals or artists, and the students enrolled are children. The culture period is usually 7- 10 years. The education mode of studying in regular classes is mainly oral teaching, which attaches importance to stage practice and despises cultural education. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, a number of famous classes appeared in China, such as Fu Liancheng in Beijing, Hongchun Society in Nanjing and Lijiaban in Chongqing. Due to historical restrictions, the relationship between master and apprentice in the training class is feudal. After liberation, the training class was replaced by the Opera Academy.
