National english contest for college students (NECCS) is the only competition in China to examine college students' comprehensive English ability, which is organized by the Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee and the Foreign Language Teaching Research Association.

The purpose of this competition is to cooperate with the evaluation of higher education teaching level of the Ministry of Education, implement the spirit of college English teaching reform and examination reform of the Ministry of Education, stimulate students' interest in learning English, promote the overall improvement of college students' English level, and select and reward college students with excellent college English learning results.

Organizational leadership:

The contest was jointly sponsored by the Steering Committee of Foreign Language Teaching in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education and the Foreign Language Teaching Research Association of Colleges and Universities, and was undertaken by Rentian Newspaper Group English Counseling Newspaper and Examination Evaluation Magazine. The college foreign language teaching steering Committee and the main leading members of the college foreign language teaching research association were established.

There is an office under the Organizing Committee of the National Competition, which is responsible for organizing various events and a series of follow-up activities. All provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) foreign language teaching research associations and foreign language departments of colleges and universities should actively seek the support of relevant education administrative departments, set up corresponding competition organizations, and do a good job in the competition.
