How to help students realize personalized learning?
Personalized learning is the key to educational reform.

What is personalized learning? Personalized learning can satisfy children's current situation, help children strengthen their own advantages, and let children better understand their abilities. Personalized learning can also discover everyone's interests, let them accept various challenges in interest cultivation, and finally promote personal growth! Personalized learning is a kind of teaching driven by students' interests.

So, how do we put personalized learning into practice? This is a difficult problem, and it is difficult to fully grasp it. Technology plays a key role in personalized learning. How to use formative assessment, data in students' interest files and long-term careful observation of students to find a suitable personalized learning method for every student in the classroom is a great challenge for teachers.

Public education must be transformed into personalized learning in order to truly take root. Therefore, we must consider new reforms to the outdated systems such as the traditional academic year, Carnegie credits and school income generation, so as to provide better learning conditions for students. However, there are still many forces hindering the development of public education.

Note: Carnegie credits refer to the credits earned by middle school students after completing a course.

However, some areas at the forefront of development are trying to solve this problem. Some schools offer many online learning opportunities, which are open all year round and students can study at any time. Some schools have begun to find ways to let children who live in remote areas and cannot use online resources enjoy free learning resources. These practices have good prospects, however, this is only a small step in the process of transforming public education into personalized learning.

In order to make students realize personalized learning effectively, they also need to master the following four methods.

1. Really know your students.

Personalized learning requires teachers to know their students very well. To this end, teachers should obtain more data sources, including the student interest file database.

We can also do some surveys on students in order to better promote personalized learning. But this is just the beginning. We should start with two methods: interviewing students and establishing contact between teachers and students. Do you know where they live? Do you know what they like and fear? Do you know what their parents do? Do you know what they think of themselves?

If you don't know this information, how can you know your students better?

2. Digging interests and establishing groups

Next, bring together children with similar needs, advantages and interests. If you have a group of children who love dancing, encourage them to create a dance to clarify the scientific point of view, and let others make videos or even write down the steps. Teachers can take some measures, such as changing the way of reading and writing, using digital media and using technology. These measures can improve the affinity of students, and the results achieved are what teachers hope to see.

Grading guidelines play a key role in ensuring that students can express their personal opinions that meet the necessary standards when participating in various activities.

3. Help students set their own goals

Help students analyze their own data and set personal learning goals for them. At the same time, apply this goal to writing or math notes, and discuss it by checking the data.

Heidi (author of Visible Learning) said that cultivating students' learning expectations has a great influence on their academic growth.

4. Use technology to help students communicate with each other

Develop a classroom website and wiki where online collaboration and discussion can be conducted to improve students' learning ability. The same is true of Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and other websites. Students study together to achieve common goals. For them, online classes are more personalized. Classroom websites are famous for their unique names, functions, personality characteristics and academic achievements.

Teachers use various teaching tools to tailor personalized learning methods for children. Technology is a good tool to organize students' data, which is another potential advantage of online classroom!

Dear friend: Ma Yun said in an activity: I think personalized learning, manifested in homework, should be different according to the specific situation of each student. Some leave art homework, some do literature homework, and some do math; Some don't even leave homework, and some have to leave more homework. In reality, the workload of teachers is already very large, and their heart and energy are limited. What do we do? We hope to share more methods with you and explore and think with you. I also hope that with the blessing of science and technology and the joint efforts of my colleagues, the day of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude will come soon. Good luck!
