Xuwo Patriotism Education Base in Xiangyang District is located in Xuwo Village, Zhangjiaji Town, Xiangyang District, in the east of Xiangfan, 36 kilometers away from downtown Xiangfan.
Xuwo Village is a well-known "martyr village" with more than 60 martyrs, and more than 300 people died for the revolution in their early years. During the Great Revolution, due to the terrible madness of reactionaries, more than 30 families in Xuwo Village were homeless.
Since the Great Revolution in the early 1920s, Xu Wo has ignited the revolutionary flame. 1925, the Party Committee sent Ke Cheng, who returned from studying in France, back to his hometown of northern Hubei to establish the party revolution. With Xuwo as the center, Ke Cheng rope developed party member in Xiangzao area and established a party group. Influenced by the revolution, Xu Hualong, a young man from Xuwo, went to Wuhan Institute of Law and Politics, and Xu Jiong went to a private school, resolutely joined the revolution, and soon grew into a firm communist fighter. Xu Hualong was a member of the Standing Committee of the county party committee. Subsequently, Xu Wo founded the Children's League, the Women's Club and the Red Gun Club, and also founded the Farmers' Night School. Sheng and Xu Hualong went to night schools to give lectures and spread revolutionary ideas. Xu Wo soon became a hot spot for revolution. A single spark eventually started a prairie fire. On 1930, Xu Hualong and other party member organized the famous peasant armed forces-Pu. -A total victory, with more than 0 100 enemy troops.
1930 autumn, the "Qing Xiang Army" bloodbath Xuwo Village, 108 villagers were shot dead at one time, among them 105 people were surnamed Xu. Chen Dengren, a farmer hero in Xuwo, was wounded in the battle of Zhaijia Ancient City. Later, because of the traitor's betrayal, his head was cut off by the regiment security bureau, his heart was dug out and he died heroically. Due to the rapid development of the revolutionary situation and the needs of the revolutionary war, Xu Hualong was trusted by the Party, and established the underground liaison station of the Party in Xuwo, which made Xuwo once a post station for revolutionary traffic in northern Hubei, and also a fortress and birthplace of revolutionary struggle in the Hunan-jujube border region, covering dozens of revolutions of our Party and making immortal revolutionary contributions. Revolutionary celebrities who have recuperated and engaged in revolutionary activities in Xuwo underground traffic liaison station include Huang (who was appointed as the chief procurator of the Supreme People's Procuratorate after the founding of the People's Republic of China), An (who was appointed as the vice chairman of the Hubei Provincial Political Consultative Conference after the founding of the People's Republic of China), Guo Huiyuan (who was awarded the rank of lieutenant general after the founding of the People's Republic of China and served as the political commissar of the Second Artillery Corps and the first political commissar of the Science, Technology and Industry Committee for National Defense) and Gu (who was then a member of the Central Hubei Party Committee and secretary of Zaoyang).

1996, Zhangjiaji Town raised nearly one million yuan to build a revolutionary martyrs cemetery in Xuwo Village. The cemetery covers an area of 5 mu, the monument is 15 m high, the martyrs cemetery covers an area of 1 mu, and more than 30 martyrs have been buried. At the same time, facilities such as meritorious monument, main road, two small bridges and revolutionary traditional education showroom were built. 1998 Xuwo Martyrs Cemetery was named Xiangfan Patriotism Education Base by Xiangfan Municipal People's Government, Xiangfan National Defense Education Base by Xiangfan Military Division, and Xiangyang Revolutionary Traditional Education Base Demonstration Site by Xiangyang Old District Education Research Institute. 1999 was awarded the patriotic education base of Hubei Province by the Hubei Provincial People's Government. Since its establishment, more than 50,000 people have received patriotic education here.

1927 In July, many villagers in Xuwo village were killed by reactionaries, and most of the villagers' houses were burned by the enemy. Its natural village is called "uninhabited village". In the southwest of the village, there is the former residence of unknown martyrs.
3, Xu Wo revolutionary martyrs martyrdom
1one day before dawn in July, 928, Li Jicai, commander of Qingxiang Army in northern Hubei, led the Qing Xiang Army to surround the village, and rushed 74 captured men, women and children to the Xishankou of the village, killing them all. Later, people called this disaster site a "mass grave".
In the revolutionary struggle of the past 20 years, many earth-shattering, weeping and touching revolutionary deeds have emerged in Xuwo, which have been widely circulated in the local area, inspiring generations of future generations to inherit the martyrs' legacy and devote themselves to the great cause of building a new China.
