First of all, since the 1970s, China has gradually implemented the family planning policy, which has greatly reduced the number of newborn children. The children born at this time happened to be high schools around the 1990s. This has led to a shortage of high school students.
Second, since the reform and opening up, a large number of farmers have gone to cities to work, which has also led to the further loss of rural high school students. At the same time, so-called boarders or loan students were formed at that time. At that time, the policy was that students who were sent to school or borrowed from school had to go back to their hukou to take the college entrance examination, but in any case, they finished high school in the city.
Third, with the decrease of students in township high schools, there is a surplus of teachers in the original high schools. At this time, teachers with higher level will naturally flow to the city. As a result, the quality of high school education in villages and towns has declined, which naturally leads to some students seeking to study in cities. In fact, by the year 2000, township high schools will be difficult to maintain.
Fourth, the loss of teachers and students has caused the scale of township high schools to shrink, resulting in a serious waste of educational resources. The effective utilization rate of educational funds and teaching equipment in schools is generally low.
First, strike while the iron is hot. Why did you cancel it? There must be something wrong with itself. Simply put, villages and towns can't keep talents, and people compete for heights. Some excellent teachers are not satisfied with their life in villages and towns. After all, there is a big gap in life comfort, income, social circle, medical care and so on. This phenomenon exists not only in senior high schools, but also among outstanding teachers in township primary schools and junior high schools. The weakness of teachers has the greatest influence on senior high schools, which involves the issue of further education. The worse the grades, the fewer students and teachers, and so on.
Second, there are students leaving, and no students quit slowly, especially in high schools, where high school students are close to adulthood and have a certain ability to take care of themselves. Therefore, some parents are worried that their children are young in primary and junior high schools and are unwilling to go out to study. When they get to high school, they can go out with confidence. High school is also a key stage, and parents are willing to spend money to send their children to some well-known schools, which leads to great problems in high schools in township schools. Some township high schools may recruit two or three students in one session. In the long run, the cancellation of township high schools will appear one after another. Primary school and junior high school involve compulsory education, so even if there are no students, we must stick to it.
On the whole, it is the general trend for villages and towns to merge with high schools, and there is no sign of change at present. With the advancement of rural urbanization, township high schools will gradually fade out of people's sight. Objectively speaking, we must face up to the gap between urban and rural educational resources. This gap will basically not change in recent years. The best school must be in the city, the best teacher must be in the city, and the best students must be in the city. So many rural parents will try their best to send their children to study in cities, because this is their hope. My humble opinion, welcome criticism and correction.
