Times Higher Education (THE) released the ranking results of world universities in 2023, and universities in Chinese mainland continued to climb steadily, shaking the dominant position of the United States. This year, 104 countries and regions have 1799 universities on the list, which is 137 more than last year, the most in the history of 19. Oxford University topped the list for the seventh year in a row.
