What does TV high school mean?
TV High School refers to Shanghai TV Secondary Specialized School. Shanghai TV Secondary School was founded in 1979, and was originally established as Shanghai TV Amateur Middle School. 1985 in may, with the approval of Shanghai municipal people's government, Shanghai TV secondary specialized school was established on the basis of TV amateur middle school.

The school was awarded the title of "National Advanced Adult Secondary Professional Education School" by the State Education Commission, and was named as "Shanghai Model Adult Secondary Professional School" and "Excellent School for Evaluating School-running Level" by the Shanghai Education Commission. In 2000, Shanghai TV Secondary School merged with Shanghai TV University, Shanghai Education TV Station and Shanghai Audio-visual Education Museum to form Shanghai Distance Education Group.
