Is compulsory education in Japan nine years or twelve years?
Refers to the general education in modern Japan. Japan established the school system in 1872 and announced the goal of "learning for all". The education decree 1879 stipulates the obligation to receive at least 16 months of general education during the eight-year school age. 1886 issued the Primary School Order, which stipulated that ordinary primary schools should implement four-year compulsory education, and 1907 extended it to six years. Before World War II, compulsory education, like military service and tax payment, was regarded as the obligation of "subjects" to the country. According to the postwar Japanese Constitution, "all citizens have the right to receive equal education according to their abilities" and "have the obligation to let their children receive general education". After the war, compulsory education was extended to primary schools and junior high schools for a total of nine years, with the aim of ensuring the national right to education centered on children's and adolescents' learning rights. The current education law stipulates compulsory education as follows: ① School-age children, students' parents and guardians have the obligation to let school-age children and students go to school. ② Cities, towns, villages and counties are obliged to set up schools. (3) no tuition and other miscellaneous fees. 4. Cities, towns and villages have the obligation to help and reward children and students to attend school. Hope to adopt! !
