Chongqing University was founded in 1929, renamed as National Chongqing University in 1942, restructured its departments in 1952, and became a national key university in 1960. As of June 20 14, the school covers an area of nearly 5,500 mu and has four campuses: Campus A is the headquarters of Old Chongqing University, Campus B is the former chongqing jianzhu university, Campus C is the adult education, and Campus Huxi is the new campus.
A is dominated by science and engineering, B is dominated by architecture, and most of them are freshmen and sophomores in the west of the lake.
