The level, progress and style of an athlete are closely related to the coach, who is not only an educator, an organizer of athlete training, a director of sports competitions, but also an intimate friend of athletes. Coaches should arm athletes' minds with patriotism through training, competition and daily life, guide athletes' training and competition with scientific training methods, and cultivate athletes' spirit of forging ahead and being brave in struggle. In the process of an excellent athlete's growth, the coach bears great responsibility. To train first-class athletes, coaches should constantly sum up and think, broaden training methods and improve their own quality.

1. The coach should be enterprising.

Throughout the ages, people who have achieved something in their careers have their own lofty aspirations and goals. Stalin once said: "Great perseverance is only produced for great goals." So, what is our coach's goal? Our coaches are athletes and sports teams with ideals, morality, education, discipline and advanced sports skills, which can win glory for our country in world competitions. Achieving this goal is by no means easy. Only those who are brave in dedication, firm and unyielding, down-to-earth, modest and eager to learn, and are willing to make great sacrifices for sports can achieve it.

Second, the responsibilities of coaches

(1) In the process of athletes' growth, coaches should not only educate athletes on the competition field and training field, but also pay attention to cultivating their style, exercising their will and improving their technical and tactical level. They should also dare to manage, be good at education, care sincerely and help patiently in life, and be intimate friends of athletes. Practice has proved that in the process of athletes' growth, coaches' ideals, personality, quality, words and deeds and manners have a subtle influence on them. As we all know, the power of example is infinite. Coaches should be strict with themselves, be open-minded and eager to learn, explore constantly, set an example, and better guide athletes to correctly understand life, love their motherland, love their careers, cherish their youth and start businesses, and win glory for their country. Bondarchuk, the coach of Xie Dihe, the world hammer record holder and the famous meritorious coach of the former Soviet Union, pointed out: "Young people's sports talent can be bright and shiny without training, but it will soon go out and will go out very early." He also pointed out: "The worse an athlete's moral character is, the sooner he boasts about his achievements, and as it happens, the faster he loses them!" Therefore, athletes should not only train their bodies, but also guide their psychology.

(2) In training, the coach should be good at guiding and be a strategist and commander in the competition. An excellent coach must be an expert who knows the business and master the training principles, methods, technical theories, psychological training, telephone training, referee methods and so on.

In training, strict requirements, high standards, and implement the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. As the saying goes, "strict teachers make excellent students", and only strict requirements can cultivate talents. Coaches should dare to ask, do what they should do, be meticulous, be resolute and do what they can, as Zhu Jianhua coach Hu pointed out: "Only with high ideological level can we have a high level on the crossbar." . Without strict requirements, athletes will be distracted and will not make a difference. If you are strict with athletes, you must be stricter with yourself. If you ask athletes to study hard and practice hard, you must be more diligent. The famous American psychologist Kang Sielmann pointed out: "What should a competent coach look like? Now I have a new concept after many twists and turns, which should be a psychologist, a physiologist and a physicist; " Only an all-around coach can cultivate excellent athletes.

(3) In the competition, we should do a good job in investigation and study, master information, know ourselves and ourselves, take the initiative and win. Sun Tzu's Art of War said: "Know yourself and know yourself, and you will be invincible." Zhuge Liang in Three Kingdoms and Wu Yong in Water Margin are all well-known multi-stars. In addition to their extensive knowledge, they won the battle mainly by "investigation and research", which is a model for future generations to learn. In a sense, all competitions are also a war. To win the battle, we must also do a good job in investigation and study, master information, know ourselves and ourselves, rationally use technology and deploy our strength. Only logical thinking, free from external interference and immediate decision-making can win. Indecision and timidity can only show that the quality of the coach is not good.

Third, the coach should be a brave explorer.

Nowadays, China has entered the information society, and high-tech and multidisciplinary training is changing the traditional training methods. In order to meet the requirements of the times, coaches must be willing to learn and be good at learning. Modern scientific training requires coaches not only to have basic theoretical knowledge, but also to study hard sports training, sports medicine, sports physiology, sports anatomy, sports psychology, sports biomechanics, sports statistics, human genetics, anthropometry, microelectronics, education, philosophy, logic, nutrition, foreign languages, as well as special theoretical knowledge, theories in techniques and tactics, principles, methods and judgments of special training.

Coaches should have the ability to analyze and solve problems in advance, be bold in training and pay attention to the application of scientific methods in selecting materials. As far as the growth history of China athletes is concerned, we have suffered a lot because of the lack of scientific selection, because a large number of talented athletes were discovered late, which delayed the opportunity to win glory for our country, and even some excellent sports were almost eliminated. Zou Zhenguang and Zhu Jianhua, who didn't engage in the final successful project at first, were the representatives who were later discovered by the coach. For example, Zou Zhenguang was a hurdler, almost eliminated, then switched to triple jump, and finally succeeded, becoming the star of the Temple of Heaven in the world. The selection of materials should minimize the elimination rate. "No one is perfect, and there is no shortage of gold." Athletes are also a person, all young people, with little experience. Therefore, in the selection of materials, we should look at the mainstream and the essence, and never be blinded by their lack of technology, let alone choose by personal grievances, so as to stifle them and bury them.
